The Vilnius State Small Theater invites you to the mono-performance "Lovefool" directed by Gintarė Parulytė. This is a hilarious and heartbreaking one-man show about Grace, a young woman who longs for love but finds it in the most inappropriate places (and people) until life finally forces her to discover what true love (for herself) is. The play is an honest, frank and unvarnished analysis of emotionally neglected fathers, codependent mothers, addictions, sexual abuse and how unresolved childhood trauma affects our ability to love and accept love as adults.

After the sold-out premiers at the National Theater in Luxembourg, the play became a huge success in other countries as well. After a sold-out performance at The Coronet Theater in London, for which Lovefool was awarded the prize for best play, the play was invited to the Summerhall Theater at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival and to the Brooklyn Art House Theater in New York, where the performance was well received. appreciated by both viewers and critics.

About the director

Gintarė Parulytė is an actress, writer, director from Luxembourg of Lithuanian origin. Since the age of 15, he has been filming in the cinema, participated in international theater and film projects, wrote and directed the films "Is That, Like, Your Real Job?", "And He Said Yes!", "Date Night", and is also one of the short documentary films Directed by Aftermath, Afterpath. G. Parulytė recently created the web series "Ladybits" and continues to work in cinema. The author of several books studied communication, wrote articles and essays for magazines. Her directing works have been seen by audiences in New York, Berlin, Brussels and London. Lithuanian viewers could also get acquainted with G. Parulytė's work - in 2019 The autobiographical monoplay "A Lithualien in the Land of Bananas" was shown in the State Small Theater of Vilnius, and the Lithuanian premiere of the monoplay "Lovefool" took place at last year's international performing arts festival "ConTempo".
