The play asks whether the modern world that glorifies women's emancipation and equal opportunities has really changed so much since The one described by Žemaitė? The show reflects the creators' attempts to understand the 19th century. the concepts of marriage, family, love and happiness and compare them with modern ones. However, the environment of the characters created by Vytautas Narbutos - the remains of an abandoned stadium - is imbued with both decaying houses and a haunted interior atmosphere. The play is full of stage symbolism and generalizations that create an almost surreal world. Arriving at Vingiai's house, Katrė falls into a real nightmare from which only death can free her...

"I didn't want to illustrate the dirty, grim household mentioned in Žemaitė's work. Especially since the author herself did not write completely realistically, rather she chose hyperbolization. The story metaphorically talks about what happens in people's heads. Problems lie in human attitudes, radicalism, unwillingness to understand others, fear of change.
