Vilnius Old Theater presents the premiere play for children "My Dad - Flyer" by British writer David Almond. In 2010, D. Almond was awarded the H. Ch. The Andersen Prize, which is often compared to the Nobel Prize for children's literature.

"I always knew I would be a writer, I created short stories and bound them into small books. I often visited the local library and dreamed of books with my name on the cover. Also, I wanted to play for the Newcastle United football team (I'm still waiting for the call)," says D. Almond.

"My dad is a pilot" - an inspiring story about faith, love and the ability to make life more beautiful through fantasy. At the same time, it is a sensitive story about a lonely but very independent girl growing up without a mother, and a sad, dreamy father who is unable to take care of himself. The girl Lizi lives in her inner limitless and complex world. She thinks a lot, knows how to feel deeply and cares for her strange dad. And there is definitely something to be excited about - her dad suddenly decides to become a bird and take part in the world flying race. An aviator dad wants his daughter to be proud of him, and together they will have to embark on a long journey to grow up, accept each other and discover the wonders hidden in the everyday. Hope and love can grow wings for anyone, even strict Aunt Doreen.
