Coffee Grinder, the main character of the play, finds himself in a Lost and Found shelter, where unwanted, faded, wobbly things take medicine for their sadness because the shelters Principal Redbeard keeps them locked in boxes and forbids them to walk the streets and cry. At the lost and found shelter, Malūnelis falls in love with a broken Umbrella and flies to the Moon to find a special machine for repairing umbrellas. In this witty journey full of the strangest characters and spells, Malūnėlis, while heroically trying to save Skętukė from sadness, discovers something very simple and unexpected...
Polish playwright Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk, who became the inspiration for the play adapted for the stage, the fairy tale "The Coffee Grinder" by the famous Polish poet K. I. Gałczyński promises the audience a rhythmic and symbolically eloquent puppet show, in which lyrical and playful adventures will alternate.
It is interesting that K. I. Gałczyńskis, who became famous for his collection of absurd miniatures and humorous sketches "Green Goose Theater" (in Vilnius theater "Lėlė" in 2010, a performance for young people was created based on this work), "Coffee "malūnėlė" was created while living on Malūnai Street, Vilnius.
"I understand that you can be born a migku, but do you have to be one all your life?" - asks one of the heroes of our story. And it seems to me that this question best reflects the meaning of the play. We don't seek to find answers - we prefer to ask questions. In my opinion, "The Coffee Grinder" is a performance about revealing one's potential. And at the same time, about the healing power of hugs, which we lack so much these days." - says the Polish director Ewa Piotrowska, who is not creating for the first time at the "Dolls" theater (the play "The Red Book").
