“Looking at the picture, one enters another time. Time expands. A person recognizes himself in a portrait. Looking at a portrait is like looking in a mirror. The mirror gives a person a unique opportunity to see himself, his face, his eyes, and creates conditions for dialogue with himself. Looking outside, a person sees his inside. Looking in the mirror, a person can fall into another world. And these two worlds can collide. When we look in the mirror, we can see something that is not directly visible to us. The depth of the mirror tells us that we can see much more or completely different than what we see in our reality. The mirror is our personal portrait of the present.

Today, a person is surrounded by many mirrors, i.e. reflective surfaces, from real mirrors and windows to lakes and puddles, snowflakes, lumps of coal, etc. i.e. All of them create cracks in the material fabric of the visible world, they are like windows to another world. However, excessive concentration on oneself and one's physical appearance leads to vanity, self-love, conceit, boasting, egocentrism. Without love, close people, walking together, beauty, success mean nothing. It's an unpleasant life when you're constantly looking at yourself.
