Kazis Binkis's children's poem "Rabbit Uprising" was conceived by the director and artist Rimas Driežis to be staged in the spirit of the ancient English puppet show "Pančas ir Džude". This is how the play came about, in which rebel hares march into interwar Kaunas, break into the Kaunas theater and demand the opera star Kipros Petrauskas to stop hunting hares.
All this patriotic puzzle from the poems of poet and dramatist, classic of Lithuanian literature Kazios Binkis (1893-1942) and poems are performed virtuosically by one actress - Lijana Mushtashvili - with many glove puppets. It is fun for children to watch hare battles, and for parents to immerse themselves in the nostalgic and ironic atmosphere of the temporary capital.
