Vilnius University Drama Theater performance "Promised" is an analysis of the legendary William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet". The aim of the performance is to reveal new aspects of the famous play that have not yet been released. The performance invites you to delve into the complex mechanisms of the family, originating from the sins of the past, whose creep touches not only their parents but their children. Inevitable due to rooted guilt and false decisions. Through the stories of the characters, the relationship between parents and children, the power of the influence of friends, the importance of the role of authority, the complexity of the love process and the maturity of the young person.

The performance touches the themes that remain relevant at any time. Every character here is not only the victim of the tragedy, but also the culprit-their different stories intertwine into an inevitable drama that makes me think about universal values.

Vilnius University Drama Theater 2025. Introduces the "promised" as an invitation to rethink Romeo and Juliet, not only the power of love but also the burden of responsibility we all carry.
