The play for the whole family "The Hen and the Rooster" is a modern interpretation of a well-known story, turned into a game.
How to follow the story? Can it be changed? Can modern objects help traditional fairy tale heroes? Could a question as old as the world have a new answer? Could a rooster fly into space with a samurai sword and a hen's eye protected by sunglasses?
Scenographer and costume designer Ramunė Skrebūnaitė realized her dream of the year of study - to create a performance in which objects come to life would expand the space of adventures and become important participants in events. Here, a girl and a boy fight for their right to believe in a fairy tale as they remember it. However, playing one by one is not interesting. So, in the name of common play, children start looking for a compromise. On this path to friendship, forgiveness, selflessness, and other important things not only for children are taught creatively.
"In the play, two adults play pranks and fool around as freely as children," claims actress Viola Klimčiauskaitė, and her colleague Dalius Skamarakas adds: "The truths of life conveyed in the form of a game are more acceptable to children, so they find their way to their hearts faster."
The cheerful music of Andrias Kulikauskas, the simple and sincere lyrics of the songs will involve even the smallest viewers, and older children will willingly participate in advising the heroes in the face of challenges. "Keistulių" theater performances for children are always distinguished by the fact that they do not have a "fourth wall" - there is no invisible barrier separating the actors and the child watching them, and every word uttered by the little audience creates the further mood of the performance.
Parents who have accompanied their children to the performance will be able to remember once again how magical, huge and colorful the world of every child - even those still living in us - is during this dynamic, fun and cozy performance.
