2018. The released debut album "Y -IS" instantly fascinated the critics' community, which was a new step in jazz speech, in which improvisation, semb part aesthetics and strictly controlled chaos blend into a continuous audio dialogue. Otis reefs, electronic elements and freedom have fundamentally changed understanding of what contemporary jazz is.
2020, the Y -IS 2 has further highlighted the band's unique sound, where melancholy melodies are intertwined with rhythmic "Groove" motives. In this way, the Y -IS has become a manifesto of contemporary jazz, and critics described this new sound: "Diffens thirst but at the same time excite it."
Keyman Dan Nicholl-Y-Axis, hears music as visual experience. His audio ideas are formed not only from jazz, but also from videos, animation and discussion in society. All of this is reflected in the sound of the group-full of colors and depths.
