On Saturday, October 25, the main events of the Open Books festival will take place. Today, visitors will have the opportunity to meet guests from abroad: bestseller author Nino Harastychwili, Danish writer Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen, British historian Ben Wilson. The festival will also continue the literary breakfast tradition. This time on Saturday morning, the earliest visitors will be invited to the late breakfast of rulers together with historian Neringa Dambrauskaitė-Martinkėne and breakfast snacks inspired by the author's book "The rulers eats", presenting the King of Poland and the cuisine of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in the 16th and 17th centuries.
The most interesting books of Lithuanian writers will be presented that day and the most exciting in recent years and meetings with their authors: Algirdas Kaušpėdas, Bernardas Gailius, Marius Burokaitė, Giedrė Kazlauskaitė, Šarūnas Černiauskas, Ingrida Jakubavičienė, Viktorija Vitkauskaitė, Marius Ivaškevičius, Dovydas Nastaravičius and others.
Traditionally, literature, culture -related discussions will be held - it will talk about how the life of the city is reflected in the literature, why writers go back to nature, discuss artists' involvement in protests, plans for the Kismo of public spaces. The awards will also be awarded on Saturday: Antanukas.lt Prize for Negro literature creators, and the 15 -minute book awards ceremony will take place.
Visitors will be able to purchase books of writers participating in the events and get their autographs, which is one of the most important days of the literary community meeting a year.
