Harmony and dissonances by mushrooming with a therapist
Premiere

Musical performance "Spores" explores today's emotional health and technology, live and virtual help. The heroine of the work is one of the many people in the modern world, trying to tell the therapist in the abundance of information and emotional stimuli. True, this therapist is a virtual advisor to artificial intelligence wisdom. Western therapy theories, based on their two conversations, help to break down in the whirlpools of everyday concerns and grief. However, by supporting the patient unconditionally, this advisor encourages attachment and creates an artificially positive environment - as if the mirror reflects the wishes and emotions he expressed. Are these virtual psychotherapists Ariadne's thread that helps find a way from the maze of gloomy thoughts and emotions, or does this thread still confuse and expand the technology nodes?
The work is inspired by the principles of the classic Greek drama adapted to the reality of the present: here the inner transformations of the protagonist are accompanied by the voices of the choir. The classic Greek tragedy, which today behind the psychotherapist's office door or phone screens, allows you to look at the changed relationship between the individual and the community. Is virtual concern a truly sustainable salvation from emotional chaos, or should we still look for different ways of building a connection with ourselves, others and the world?
Spore is a debut work of the visual artistic duo Pakui Hardware, a work of a large stage artistic creator. Contemporary electronic music, community choir lives performed by polyphonic sound structures, videoculptural scenography and motion drawing - all here becomes a new, performed pulsating body from individual spores.

“The relations between today's technology and bodies and their health are the topic of our research from the beginning of the establishment of Pakui Hardware. We are wondering how technological progress changes the bodies themselves, how each cell is connected to economic productivity, and at the same time it is easier for our daily work and communication. Recently, we are increasingly seeing that technology is taking not only physical body transformations but also emotional health. Such a sensitive, intimate part of us suddenly becomes open to a technological gaze, and we voluntarily surrender to it. This is how the idea of creating a musical performance was born that would intertwine in the classic genre of the tragedy and a technology today. We wanted to rethink the structure of the tragedy itself, when the protagonist talks to extraterrestrial beings, but they are not on the Olympics, but on the phone screen, as well as the choir, as the voice of society, now manifests itself in the comment section. When we delve into the psychotherapy provided by artificial intelligence, we realized that its limitations are not only technical but also cultural, ie. y. Based on pure Western therapy theories, which do not always take into account the cultural identities of each user, some cosmology inherent in the country from which it / it originates. I wanted to question not only DI's therapy itself, but also the prevalence of established, western -imported forms of therapy: maybe there are other, non -language ways to build a relationship with themselves, their past and those around them - whether they are human or inhumane being? "

Composer Massa Slaskis:
“By creating music for the Spore, I aimed to create an audible fabric that would organically blend natural and synthetic sounds that combine live choral sound, soloist's voice and electronic music. I was looking for a vision for Pakui Hardware, their research on body, materiality and technology links, and contrasting with the community choir charisma and DIY spirit. It is a new experience for me that requires not only technical or musical solutions, but also sensitivity to the ensemble, space and themes. ”
