EXCURSION IN THE PLAYGROUND. MONASTERY AND CHURCH (description)

We will visit the former Kamaldulian monastery in Pažaislis, which is considered one of the most beautiful baroque ensembles in the Baltic States!

Pažaislis Kamaldulian monastery and St. The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was founded in the second half of the 17th century by the chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas. Today, the monastery counts more than three centuries of history, surrounded by legends, it fascinates with its unique baroque appearance and colorful surroundings. During this excursion, we will open the doors of the Pažaislis Monastery and learn about the Kamaldul monks and other owners of the monastery, about its founders and the most famous masters who worked here at that time, and we will unravel the secrets of the frescoes. The tour starts at the Pažaislis monastery (T. Masiulio st., Kaunas) at the ticket office, where a professional guide will be waiting. Accompanied by a guide, we will travel around the former Camaldulian monastery of MONTE PACIS, we will also visit St. Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. The tour will take about 2 hours, the end is scheduled at Pažaislis monastery museum.

This tour takes place outdoors and indoors (in the church). Comfortable footwear and clothing according to the weather conditions are recommended.
