CERAMIC DAYS. Familiarization tour of Klaipėda's old town ceramic studios
August 8. on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Klaipėda Cultural Communication Center (KKC) invites you to an educational tour of Klaipėda's old town ceramic studios.
Do you know what lies behind the doors of the old town ceramic studios and how ceramics are made there? We invite you to take an inspiring tour of the ceramic studios operating in the old town of Klaipėda: "Mo Molio", "Namolio", "Maži šaiči" and the creative space of ceramist Daiva Ložytė.
During the tour:
you will visit four different ceramic studios; you will get to know ceramicists and the stories of their creation; you will hear stories about the subtleties, techniques and creative process of ceramic craft; you will see how unique handmade ceramics are born; you will have the opportunity to ask questions, chat with the creators and get inspiration.This is a great opportunity to get to know the lively creative community of Klaipėda's old town, discover authentic spaces and get closer to the art of ceramics.
We welcome everyone who is interested in ceramics, art and creativity!
The tour starts at the KKKC Exhibition Hall, Didžioji Vandens st. 2.
ABOUT THE CYCLE OF EVENTS "CERAMIC DAYS"
August 5-8. KKKC organizes a series of ceramic events to reveal the art of ceramics from historical, artistic and practical perspectives, i.e. i.e. to acquaint Klaipėda residents and city guests with local ceramics, the history and role of ceramics in Klaipėda in the context of contemporary art.
The cycle consists of: lectures on ceramics in the context of traditional and contemporary art; creative ceramics workshop and an educational tour of the ceramic studios of Klaipėda Old Town.
