What did the historical kitchens of Lithuanian manors look like, what place did they occupy in the manor and what story do they tell us today - about this with doc. Dr. Marius Daraškevičius, presenting his latest book "DIDYSIS KAMINS, or MANOR KITCHEN".
This publication is a micro-historical architectural study of the kitchen, a manor space that has received little attention so far, but is extremely eloquent. The book invites you to take a trip through the 16th century. mid-20th century early Lithuanian manors, get to know kitchens, bakeries, offices and chimneys, opening up to the reader the significance of the planning, interior design and culinary habits of the manors of that time.
We invite you to the meeting, during which the author will share his latest research and discuss with the guests the peculiarities of Lithuanian manor cuisine, and chef Artūras Rakauskas will present a tasting four-course dinner.
