More than one story of the Dance Space (and scientific research) testifies that the regular practice of conscious dance has a positive, healing, transforming, nurturing effect on life. So we will end every work week by leaving our worries on the dance floor and wake up on Saturday morning feeling more in our body, emotionally and spiritually cleaner, calmer and happier. Unlike the one-off events of conscious dance, here we invite you to experience dance as a practice that we repeat because we choose to do so. Irrespective of the wind or the weather. The goal of the conscious dance labs is to grow a personal conscious dance tour guide, able to create a unique dance experience for yourself and others on any dance floor, and to use dance as an instrument to create and maintain your well-being. This series of dance experiences is led by Kamilė Pundziūtė, a body and movement therapist and somatic education specialist, dancer and artist. "I went to my first free dance workshop almost 20 years ago, and that weekend I realized that I want to do what I'm doing now. ...and I call it Dance Space? Those couple of decades were full not only of dance, but also of the desire to understand, to figure out what happens when we dance. I got to know dance as a powerful instrument. Depending on how you interact with dance, people often get only very limited benefits from their dance floor experiences. And that good. However, when we master dance as an instrument that helps build well-being in life, we become a little richer and smarter," shares Kamilė.
Do you need dance experience?
No. The lab is open to anyone who wants to experience authentic dance more deeply, understand what happens when we dance, and have more control over their experience on the dance floor. Is it possible to participate not all times?
Not all of them are possible, but you will only grow if you are with us on the dance floor! This means that the group is more or less closed, and the process is continuous. Yes, the circumstances of life are inevitable, and what is important for us is the attitude — the determination to participate. What is the difference between the Conscious Dance Laboratory and the Dance Space? In these weekly meetings, we will explore conscious dance as an ongoing practice with more diversity, more interactive, in a smaller group of people, creating and witnessing an experiential journey that is both personal and group growth.
