Excursion "Shalom, Vilnius" - these are stories about the 19th - 20th centuries. Ave. The everyday life of Vilnius Jews with a Lithuanian breakfast in the "Baleboste" cafe.
We will start the city tour with a Lithuanian breakfast (set of spreads + bagel + fruit compote.) The price of breakfast is 12 EUR.
The tour and its stories begin at "Baleboste" - a kosher-style food restaurant, where we will taste traditional spreads of different flavors and the most delicious Litvak bagel in the world, which are made according to the authentic family recipes of the owner of the kitchen (Yiddish - "balebos") Riva. During the tasting, you will learn more about kosher nutrition and the path of the Litvak bagel from Lithuania to America and back. After eating, we will go for a walk through the winding streets of the old town.
We will talk about the different professions, personalities, businesses, community legends, hardships and joys of the Jews of Vilnius before the Second World War. We will also explore the memorial stones, which we sometimes don't notice while walking through the streets of Vilnius. Together, we will try to understand how big a part of everyday old Vilnius fit into a couple of small blocks and how the people who lived there were similar to each of us. game elements.
