🔎 What interesting stories have the streets and courtyards on the other side of the Vilnelė River accumulated over the centuries? It is said that Užupis is the oldest suburb of Vilnius. In the past, mills operated here by the river, craftsmen's machines and tools rumbled, and today there is an independent RES PUBLIC, where artists and free people's ideas are bustling.
💬 The tour "Užupis crosswinds" is an urban exploration of the written and unwritten stories of Užupis, which we will look for on bridges, courtyards, streets, sculptures, drawings on walls and in people's memories. It is an introduction to the most important places, events, people and the most interesting stories of Užupis. It is also a meeting with the different faces of the artistic republic and exploring them with the curious eyes of the townspeople.
🎨 While in town, we will explore the artistic, ideological, bright and faded symbols of Užupis. We will try to find out what kind of people created and continue to create those unbridled gusts of draft, so that ideas never stop waving in the streets of the quarter. We will also discover the already familiar places of Užupis - while playing, we will explore the works of art and people immortalized in them. Because you can't find anything in Užupis: from sculptures wrapped in legends to brightly colored drawings on the walls; all kinds of creators are immortalized here: from artisan potters to avant-garde filmmakers.
