L. The characters of Bärfuss's play "The Test" are lost, satisfying only their needs and ego. Father takes care of his political career; mother - meditates in India, son wants to destroy himself and destroy his wife with a crown; the wife, pushed and blamed, cannot even express her opinion, because she is not a biological family member; father's assistant - tries to destroy the family with lies in order to take the son's place and thus compensate for the lack of love in childhood. "Family makes you weak" are the words of the father of the play, which perfectly reflect the essence and paradox of the play. According to the future director of the play, a rather stereotyped trend can be clearly seen in Lithuania: almost everyone longs for a certain form of family, but they are afraid of responsibilities and in the end they still start looking for their "self", "freedom" somewhere else.

Today's the meaning and value of family: is it possible to abandon the imposed family model, live and love differently? Love, both in theory and in practice, is still a discursive battlefield where many contemporary conflicts over gender, sexual, and cultural identity play out on a daily basis. Who can and should be a "man" or a "woman" today? How will we define family, nation and belonging to a social group in the future?
