Although Maja (Nel Kaczmark) has devoted her life to actresses all her life, she does not believe in herself and her abilities. Everything changes when a well -known director (Tomasz Schuchardt) appears on her way. The charismatic man must prepare the final performance with his students. By giving the Maya a leading role in Lady Macbeth, he surprises everyone, but also restores not only her love for actresses but also her self -confidence. But over time, Maya is painfully aware that the director who uses the dubious working methods manipulates not only her feelings but also the relationships and aspirations of other young actors. Soon it turns out that the main purpose of Maya is not the final performance, but the disclosure of the director's true nature.
Utrata Równowagi (Loss of Equilibrium) is a bright film, rhythmically constructed and staged with a firm hand. He boldly explores the contradictory topic that received a lot of media attention and was associated with the boundaries of the actor's department lecturers and theater directors, but at the same time is intellectual enough to avoid journalistic simplifications. Bojanowski manages to capture youthful energy, uncompromising posture and spontaneity, which fascinate with his authenticity in the film.
