After losing his daughter, Jurek (Marcin Dorociński) and his father -in -law Ben (Daxing Zhang) decide to perform Chinese ritual Minghun, or marriage after death. The characters go on a metaphorical and emotionally stormy journey to their own depths to find a perfect partner for the deceased for eternity. The collision of two very different cultures should help both the characters in the film and the viewers to realize that, despite our origin, we all belong to one family family, where the main emotions are common.
Minghun is the story of hope, love and the search for meaning of life and what happens after life. The film of director Jan P. Matuszyński ("The Last Family", "King" series) and screenwriter Grzegorz łoszewski ("Bailiff") ironically confront us with bereavement, our own beliefs and spirituality. It is an exciting, gentle and personal cinema that tells of the most important values of a person's life and gives the viewer what's most important in our time - hope.
