Together with a guide, you will travel through the streets of the power plant, walk through the corridors of Monstro, visit the basement made famous by the HBO series "Chernobyl", and most importantly, you will be one of the first to see the ongoing energy transformation and the construction site of the green hydrogen plant.
A huge territory covering more than 20 hectares is like a town with its own streets, history and secrets. At its center is a red brick building nicknamed the Monster by the workers. From here, heat travels through more than 770 km long pipes like blood vessels to the homes of Vilnius residents. How does it appear? What devices rumble inside the Monster? Why are bullets found in biofuel?
From a distance, Vilnius thermal power plant no. 2 invites you to learn and understand how heat, hot water and electricity are produced, as well as to see with your own eyes how effective innovations replace old technologies. This is one of the most interesting operating industrial facilities in the Baltic States.
Those participating in the tour must comply with all safety requirements, keep up with the group, and not touch the equipment. During the entire excursion, participants must wear helmets and signal vests issued by the organizers. Part of the tour is outdoors and part is indoors, so be aware of the weather and dress appropriately.
