Concert “Singing Freedom”
When people get together and their voices blend into one, incredible energy appears - it is impossible to stop.
The ensemble "Lietuva" presents the musical program "Singing Freedom", in which the legendary songs of the singing revolution and the rebirth period will be reborn. The songs that are our own, familiar, often nostalgia, and will sound new to this concert - as they concentrated and awakened the spirit 35 years ago, they will still remind us of our determination in the fight for independence.
From the most sensitive texts to the joy of rise, we will remember the most popular works of that time with the audience. We will perform new patriotic songs of Lithuanian composers and present unique, unheard of arrangements. Legends such as "Light of the Scrap", "Freedom", "Yellow, Green, Red", "I Cry the Nation", "Wakes the Baltija" or "White Bird" will also be performed. The synthesis of the Lithuanian National Instruments Orchestra and Rock Group, the peculiar interpretation of the soloists and the choir, and the modern presentation on the stage will create a theatrical spectacle that tells the story of Lithuanian freedom - its sound, its price and strength.
"The singing revolution for Lithuanians was the strongest stimulus that reminds songs of what they were and would like to be: independent states with its values, its language, its anthem, flag and identity," says Leokadija Dabužinskaitė, a program director, winner of the Government Culture and Art Prize. with a cross. It is one of the most famous Lithuanian song festivals, festivals, various events directors and choreographers, which aims to reveal the deep meanings of the Lithuanian nation's life and their significance in the modern world. L. Dabužinskaitė directed three Lithuanian musical projects - the Baltic mystery "Gods and People", the oratory of freedom "13" and the concert "Eisva Mudu Abudu".
As you know, singing during the Revolution (1987 - 1991) in Lithuania, mass gatherings in Vingis Park, Mountain Park, abundant demonstrations, rallies, on -duty, on -call objects - folk and patriotic, partisan songs were sung. Music has become a major form of independence and national idea. New songs were created, and they are assigned metaphorical and direct meaning. So far, our words and identity have been encoded in their words and sounds.
