In the 11th season  the concert series "Evenings of Pažaislis Liepai Alley" invites listeners to travel "From Portugal to Žemaitija" in the middle of summer. Already on July 17, at 7 p.m. in the "Monte Pacis" hospitality complex, you will be invited to listen to the soulful music of Portuguese fado artist Celia Leiria with her band, and in the second part of the concert, you will meet the beloved actress Nijole Narmontaita and a live sound band, who will perform the program "Kiss is sweeter than wine" .

Celia LEIRIA is considered one of the brightest voices of the new fado generation in her native Portugal. Fourteen started to sing. She has appeared on prestigious stages, festivals, various projects in Portugal and abroad. Regularly sings in several of the best Fado houses in Lisbon, including the famous Clube de Fado. Celia skillfully combines a mature, distinctive style with a traditional interpretation of fado and modern vocal characteristics. To Lithuania, the artist brings her new album, which combines traditional fado and the latest trends in the world of music.

Fado (from the Latin fatum - fate) is a genre of music popular in Lisbon in the 19th century. It is believed that these are songs of departed sailors and women soldiers, the most important emotional element of which is longing (saudade). The fado genre flourished in the 20th century. in the first half and became extremely popular when the most famous Portuguese poets started composing verses for this music. As a typical romance of the city of Lisbon, a symbol of identification between the city and the country, fado was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2011. Since then, fado is a part of the whole world. 

In the second part of the concert, all those gathered will move to Žemaitija. "Life is a celebration - so let's celebrate!" ", - a confident actress, author of six books  Nijolė Narmontaitė. In her new program of songs and stories "A kiss is sweeter than wine", songs in the Lithuanian and Žemaitian languages ​​will be sung, with the support of a live sound group, and poetry will touch,  and colorful, funny, playful stories will brighten up the gray present and fill it with light. Together with Nijole Narmontaita, the following will play on stage: accordion - Andrius Balachovičius, keyboards - Kastytis Žukauskas, double bass - Ar Man Isojan, percussion - Žydrūnas Mockūnas.
