This year, the legendary singer Leonard Cohen would have turned 90 on September 21. Therefore, the premiere will take place on the same day - at the Kaunas State Philharmonic. Hallelujah, Who By Fire, Dance Me to the End of Love, Suzanne, Everybody Knows - these are just some of the songs that will be revived in the unique concert of Dainot Varnas and the Kaunas Big Band - the dedication "Cohen's World". Their arrangements were prepared by Jievaras Jasinskis, and Karolis Bratkauskas' visualizations will help reveal the mood of the program. Songs will be played, Cohen's voice talking about the sugar and salt of his life and ours.

Canadian poet, writer, singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen is treated by fans as a Renaissance figure who does not fit within the bounds of drawn artistry. Art critic Bruce Eder, assessing Cohen's entire career in the field of popular music, noted that Cohen, who sings with a low and rich baritone voice, is one of the most fascinating and enigmatic singer-songwriters of the late 1960s, who retained his audience during four decades of music and became a legend.

Leonard Cohen (1934-2016), who has been creating for more than 50 years, was born in Montreal, Quebec, into a middle-class Jewish family. His mother Marsha (Masha) Klonitsky  was the daughter of Solomon Klonitsky-Kline, a rabbi of Lithuanian Jewish descent, and a scholar of the Talmud. As a teenager, he learned to play the guitar and formed the band Buckskin Boys. After getting acquainted with the works of the Spanish writer Federico García Lorca, he started writing himself.

Fans of Litvak Cohen's songs , who was interested in his biography, knows that it had everything: he - the hero of incredible stories which, as it turned out, were true. On the other hand, only 25 years old Cohen was already considered the pride of Canada, who was even predicted to win the Nobel Prize for literature.

After The Rolling Stones wrote of Cohen's death: "He was the man who shaped the opinions of the opinion makers. In pursuit of music, Leonard Cohen abandoned literature, which dealt with the topics he was interested in - religion, loneliness, sexuality, interpersonal relationships, and in the broadest sense - he was a creator and a humanist.  2011  Cohen was awarded the prize of the Prince of Asturias for his achievements in literature, the commission assessed the "enduring value" of the artist's work.
