February 6 at 7 p.m. let's meet in Erdvea to play bowling! Or in other words - let's play some Bolling!
Music will be played in the space loved by the people of Kaunas, where classical elegance meets the spirit of a jazz wanderer. We will hear Claude Bolling's "Concerto for Classical Guitar and Piano Jazz Trio" - a piece that encodes diverse world music and the mischievous spirit of improvisation.
Claude Bolling (1930-2020) - French jazz pianist, composer who combined two seemingly different worlds: classical and jazz. His famous concerto for classical guitar is like a musical mosaic of seven colors, where Spanish and Mexican rhythms, baroque grandeur, blues freedom, romantic melodies and even the energy of African dances intertwine!
On stage - an authentic composition of the chamber ensemble:
Rokas Jurkus is a classical guitar virtuoso who creates a melodic axis and skillfully balances between classical discipline and freedom of improvisation.
Kamilė Zaveckaitė - a piano that combines jazz expression and classical elegance, leading the music through authentic mood changes.
Bernardas Ručinskas - double bass, a strong and at the same time flexible foundation on which the entire musical architecture of the piece rests.
Rokas Generauskas - percussion, infusing life, tempo and character change, moving dynamics to new spaces.
The spirit of Bolling will be revived at the concert in the last month of winter, like musical bowling - notes and instrumental parts will roll like balls on the track, each time aiming at a different pin... oh! To another climax and to another instrument solo!
And before heading to the concert's main skittle set - Bollinga, the quartet will invite the audience to warm up with tap dancer Egle Motiekaita and guitarist Roko Jurkaus' free improvisation!
