"I wanted to reveal the original essence of this great music. I wanted to create something more than a simple orchestration, and I discovered that an integral part of Queen's music is the language of the modern classical genre," says T. Kashif.
Queen members did not participate in the process of creating T. Kashif's symphony, leaving the composer complete creative freedom. Although the symphony uses the band's most famous songs for its musical fabric, some of them will be hard to recognize even for the biggest fans of Queen's music. "Everyone who expects to hear simply arranged Queen songs will be shocked to say the least," Queen guitarist B. May said after the first auditions of the symphony.
T. Kashif points out that Queen's music is valuable material for the academic music composer - Queen was part of a radical new wave that challenged all popular music. She embodied the original artistic expression that we hear in the band's scrupulously executed recordings and concerts. Today, "The Queen Symphony" is performed all over the world, and its recording remains one of the most popular in the classical music charts of Europe, USA, Asia. "Queen's" theatricality, sensuality overwhelms the sound of the symphony - we seem to be hearing the backstage of Freddie Mercury's pompous theater.
