World piano star Min Kwon is coming to Kaunas. November 29 At the Kaunas State Philharmonic, a soloist from the United States of America will perform W.A. Mozart's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 23. "An extremely rare talent that combines exceptional technical ability and deep musical sensitivity", - this is what producer David Frost, owner of 16 Grammy statues, has said about this phenomenal pianist.

The piano virtuoso and the orchestra will be conducted by maestro Constantinas Orbelianas, well known to Lithuanian audiences, who together with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra is commemorating 10 years of friendship and cultural cooperation.

Korean-born American pianist Min Kwon has a varied career spanning concerts, solo recitals and chamber music performances. Together with world-renowned symphony orchestras and music groups, she has given concerts in more than 60 countries on seven continents, as well as performed in every US state. Min Kwon has collaborated with such distinguished conductors as James Conlon, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Alan Gilbert, Vaktang Jordania, Gerhardt Zimmerman, and Xian Zhang.

The pianist has given solo recitals in Boston, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Paris, Philadelphia, Rome, Seoul, Singapore and Sydney. The portal "New York Concert Review" wrote about one of Min Kwon's recitals: "Passionate performance, delicately demonstrated masterful performance technique, lightness and simplicity combined with luxury, thus creating a harmony that was extremely gratifying...".

With her sister, violinist Yoon Kwon (first violin in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), she has given more than 200 recitals, including appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic and national orchestras. The sisters have recorded a CD in collaboration with RCA Red Seal/BMG. It was the first time in the company's century-old history that a female artist of Korean origin had done so.

Min Kwon, in collaboration with producer David Frost, has recorded works by F. Schubert and F. A selection of Liszt's works. This CD was awarded the Grammy Award.
