Soprano Gabrielė Bukinė and guitarist Rokas Jurkus invites you to spend your Sunday evening listening to the romantic music of Franz Schubert.

F. Schubert is the king of early romantic melodies, who composed more than 600 songs in his short life of 31 years. Unrecognized during Schubert's lifetime, today these expressive Lieds are widely performed all over the world. They contain the great emotional world of man: love and suffering, human conditionality, his inseparable connection with nature. Usually F. Schubert's songs are performed accompanied by a piano, but in this concert they will sound in a different light - accompanied by a classical guitar.

GABRIELĖ BUKINĖ 2021. completed his master's studies at the Music Academy of Vytautas Magnus University. Immediately after that, she started working as a teacher at this academy and made her debut at the Kaunas State Music Theater with leading roles in G. Verdi's opera "Traviata" and G. Rossini's opera "The Turk in Italy", for which she was nominated for the Golden Cross of the Stage and awarded the "Fortuna" statuette. in 2023 G. Bukina was awarded the Kaunas City Culture Prize for her theatrical

activities, and in the fall of the same year, the soloist became the absolute winner of the international Klaudia Taev Young Opera Singers Competition - she won first place and audience sympathy prize. in 2024 for the roles created in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater (Antonia in "Hofman's Stories",

Violeta in "Traviata", Zara in "Zarzuela"), the soloist was awarded the title "Opera Hope of the Year" , and was chosen as the most beloved soloist of the year by the audience's vote.

Acknowledged for his sensitive musicianship and visionary programs, guitarist ROKAS JURKUS is an active concert soloist, chamber music performer, music producer and member of the Kaunas State Musical Theater Orchestra. The musician, who graduated from the Lille Conservatory of Music and Dance in France, regularly performs in major Lithuanian and foreign concert halls and implements creative projects. Their last one was recorded in the bedroom in 2023. in October the debut solo album "Blue sand pyramids" was released.

Another project recently completed by the guitarist is the adaptation of the piano music of the great Lithuanian artist M.K. Čiurlionis for guitar. The transcriptions created by the artist are of special importance to the Lithuanian classical music scene. This sheet music publication is now available all over the world with the help of the Lithuanian Music Information Center.
