Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, led by artistic director and chief. Conductor Maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, along with piano virtuoso Alexander Paley, presents an exclusive series of concerts this season, featuring one of the most famous 19th century. Piano, composer and educator Anton Rubinstein (1829–1894) for piano and orchestra concerts. Listeners of Kaunas Philharmonic have a chance to hear even two concerts of this cycle.
Born in a Jewish family in Moldova, A. Rubinstein received his first piano lessons from his mother. A little later he heard him and began to teach him a prominent pianist and educator Alexander Villaing. At the age of 9, Mr Rubinstein had already organized his first public shows, and at the age of 11, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Lisz and Felix Mendelssohn performed in Paris. In 1854, at the age of 24, Rubinstein organized a four-year concert tour in Europe, which very quickly established his name as a completely mature pianist virtuoso and a widely regarded composer. Ignas Moscheles wrote after one of the concerts of this tour what later became a universal opinion about Rubinstein: "He is not subordinate to anyone with power and performance."
Tonight, Paley Atlis Atis, the first concert of the composer, dedicated to A. Rubinstein's main piano teacher A. Villoing. 1850 The written concert is considered to be the most traditional of all five, but at the same time retains the virtuosity of the piano line, which is typical of A. Rubinstein.
The second part of the concert will feature Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827) seventh symphony. 1813 The premiere of the work in Vienna did not leave indifferent - the symphony of critics was called "one of the melodically richest, most attractive and most understandable" "Van Beethoven Symphony. The seventh symphony is a striking example of L. Van Beethoven's viability - despite the composer's imminent firing, the work is permeated by the uneducated enthusiasm and optimism.
