International duo of performers, harpsichord Nijolė Dorotėja Beniušytė and violinist Daniel Fradkin invite listeners to an acquaintance with the rarely heard instrument - Viola d'More.
This string instrument was used in the epochs of Baroque and early classicism, and later gave way to the Altu and cello. The instrument has six or seven major strings that are complemented by resonant strings under them. Resonance strings are not touched by the poin and vibrate only by interacting with the vibrations of the main strings and the body. It is because of the resonant strings Viola d'Amore that has an extremely gentle timbre that resembles a human voice.
The concert featured two G. F. Händel's sonata in the original version of the violin or any other instrument (flutes, oboe, etc.) and Basso Continuo. J. Benda, J. S. Bach and C. Ph. Mr Bach's sonatas are actually for the violin and harpsichord. This program will be performed by a unique instrument - Viola d'More, according to the transcription of the violinist D. Fradkin himself. This is the first two sonatas performed in Europe, and the other three will be for the first time in the world.
It is likely that the Baroque composers thought their sonatas could be performed on different instruments - this idea and a concert program based. The most striking example of this approach is J. S. Bach's concerts, which he himself arranged for the violin party by applying harpsichord. Viola d'More - 17th and 18th centuries. Formerly popular, the 19th century. forgotten, and in the 20th and 21st centuries. The reborn instrument - deserves attention, so the evening performers hope their program will become a good contribution to the Baroque Music repertoire.
Critics talk about Mr Fradkin's performances, "I have heard a wonderful play of Daniel Fradkin. He is a truly extraordinary musician who gives you extraordinary vitality, lyricism and meaning. He plays in 1986. Master Francois Curty Avijnone is made by Viola d'Amore.
