If you want to feel the authentic spirit of the Caucasus and Sakartveli, come to the concert of the "Margalef" ensemble at the Kaunas State Philharmonic.
The ensemble performs works belonging to Sakartvel folklore treasury, presenting songs from all regions of the country. The singers' voices merge into a perfect harmony, evocatively representing Kartveli folklore and taking you to the depths of the history of Kartveli. The ensemble's interpretations make the frequent listener dance, sing or even cry along.
The internationally recognized Margalef ensemble successfully tours Europe, participates in prestigious festivals and television projects. The members of the ensemble - Dimitri Kakulia, Ilia Comaia, Rati Saria and Ušangi Čičilava - are professional musicians with a clergy education.
In addition to harmonious vocals, in this concert the listeners will have the opportunity to hear the traditional Kartveli string musical instrument chonguri - a unique Kartveli lute. The concert will be conducted by Mariam Lapenienė from Sakarta, currently living in Lithuania, who will introduce the audience to the program: she will present the idea of each song and the history of its origin. What's more, in this concert, the ensemble "Margalef" will perform Lithuanian folk songs colored by the Kartvelian polyphonic sound for the first time. These songs will become a living proof of the deep and strong friendship between Lithuanians and Kartvelians.
