"Voices from Heaven" is a special concert dedicated to honoring the innocent victims of war in Ukraine: children, artists, women and civilians, whose voices our world no longer hears. This musical program is a journey through pain, remembrance and spiritual renewal, a symbolic archway from heavenly purity to deep mourning and finally to enlightened hope.
The evening's soloists - Ukrainian soprano Kseniya Bakhriddinova-Kravchuk and baritone Pavlo Hryshchenko - will take the stage with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, and the Ukrainian conductor Oksana Madarash, known to the Lithuanian audience, will conduct the memorial concert.
At the beginning of the evening, the prelude of R. Wagner's opera "Lohengrin" sounds as if from another world, full of light and shining harmony, inviting the listener to feel the hope that carries the soul upwards.
G. Mahler's "Songs of Dead Children" is a work in which the human voice expresses with extraordinary intimacy the sadness, the pain of loss and the tender memory of lives lost too soon. Each note opens the heart and invites you into a space of empathy and remembrance.
One of the highlights of the evening is the premiere of Ukrainian composer Viktorija Poleva's piece "No one is an island" in Lithuania. This lyrical, deeply humanistic composition invites you to think about human connection, compassion and common existence. V. Poleva conveys with particular clarity the idea that every loss affects all of humanity, and her music becomes a bridge between the listeners' hearts and a universal sense of empathy.
The concert is crowned by Richard Strauss's monumental symphonic poem "Death and Enlightenment". This grandiose composition transforms darkness into light, sadness into transcendence, and leads the listener towards inner peace and refreshment. Each chord becomes a meditation on life, death and the possibility of finding light even in the most difficult moments.
"Voices from Heaven" is music as a memory that turns into light. It is an evening where pain and beauty, loss and hope intertwine, and the resounding voices connect souls, inspire compassion and leave a lasting message of light and inner peace.
The concert invites the listener to a deep emotional and spiritual journey that leaves no one indifferent and enriches the inner world.
