August 24 two incredible personalities will meet: a creator who has never studied composition professionally, who has reached incredible heights in the world of academic and jazz music, and a musician who constantly brings fifteen kilograms of passion to the stage, constructed from twelve thousand details, who calls birds and trees his first music teachers, and the best concert hall - a Lithuanian forest.
Yes, it is incredible talented composer George Gershwin and extraordinary charisma accordion virtuoso Martynas Levickis. Together with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, the soloist will perform his own version of "Rhapsody in Blue" specially adapted for the accordion (in the original version, the solo part is played by the piano). As the performer himself says, the accordion gives special colors to this part simply because the chord played by the piano fades away and becomes silent, while the chord played by the accordion varies and evolves according to the interpretation of the instrumentalist. Extending the program, the "Carmen Suite" by the French genius Georges Bizet, based on the immortal themes of the opera "Carmen", will also not leave anyone indifferent.
