Welcoming the New Year, the VDU Chamber Orchestra invites you to celebrate together!
In a concert that has become a tradition in the VDU Great Hall an updated, theatrical program of Viennese operetta creators - Johan Strauss, Franco Lehar and Imre Kalmans will be played: arias, duets, orchestral numbers. These composers are undoubtedly the most famous creators of Vienna's new operetta, and when their music is performed by the charismatic soloists Ingrida Kažemėkaita, Egidiju Bavikinas and the VDU Chamber Orchestra, led by maestro Vytautas Lukočius, there is no one left indifferent. The concert, pulsating with the waltz rhythm and good mood, will invite you to celebrate and welcome the New Year in a fun and carefree manner. The cozy concert will not last long - arias and duets from J. Strauss's operettas "Blood of Vienna", "Gypsy Baron", "The Merry War" by I. Kalman, "Violet of Montmartre", "Queen of Čardash" will be performed. Mister X", F. Lehar's "Merry Widow", "Judith", J. Strauss polkas, marches performed by the VDU Chamber Orchestra.
Traditionally, the performers will be invited to accompany the old year and "Raise a cup of pleasure" from Giuseppe Verdi's opera "La Traviata"
