TRIO AGORA are three charismatic musicians, laureates of various prestigious international competitions, who regularly perform In European concert halls, but not forgetting Lithuanian ones as well. July 21 at the concert, listeners will hear the ensemble's latest album "Hotel Tango", which will be released in 2023. with the German record label Accentus Music, a sounding program.
Trio Agora presents a brand new original version of Ástor Piazzolla's Four Seasons by the trio clarinetist Žilvins Brazauskas, as well as the work "Foxtrot Romeo Juliet Hotel Tango" dedicated to the ensemble of Canadian-American composer Joel Hoffman and other original arrangements, among which will be heard the origins of tango: mazurkas, waltzes and contradanzas, as well as works by academic music composers.
The trio's mission is to share their admiration for tango music, which has flourished for a century and a half and continues to shape us, just as we do it. Where did tango come from and how many people and cultures have been captivated by the rhythms, songs and dances of this genre? Trio Agora aims to express the vast scope of tango music by selecting pieces that each have a unique history and contributed to the evolution of this style. The Hotel Tango album is a kind of international manifestation of tango, taking listeners from the salons of Paris to the small streets of Buenos Aires, through the United States, Latin America, West Africa and Eastern Europe. Many of the works presented are like stories that pay homage to the original compositions in the form of arrangements and transcriptions.
