It is like an old acquaintance, but every time it is different - such jazz will sound when the Klaipėda Jazz Orchestra (headed by Kęstutis Sova), together with one of the most famous Lithuanian trumpets, Dominykas Vyšniauskas, will be on the festival scene.
This evening is a living, open music, full of energy, unexpected turns and improvisation. The works of Gerry Mulligan, Matt Denis, That Done, Bert Joris, Dizzy Gillepie and Don Ellis will combine the basics of classics with modern sound and rhythmic diversity.
Dominykas Vyšniauskas is an experienced trumpeter and improviser, winner of national and international competitions. Today, he is constantly looking for new ways to speak through sound, how to inspire and surprise. His improvisations are a living process where each piece sounds different. The concert performers invite you not to be afraid to listen to jazz more carefully - to discover how much freedom, color and unexpected connections. Music becomes a conversation here - with yourself, with others, with the world.
