1838-1839. In the winter, two well -known creators - F.Sopen, a Polish composer and a French writer George Sand - spent each other together on the Spanish island in Mallorca. Sand was then known as a conservative artist who is breaking in society, wearing menswear, holding a cigar in his hand, one of the first women of the 19th -century women's "pipe". Before she knew Chopin, she had already lived in a women's monastery, marry, give birth to her son and daughter, leave her spouse, leave the lover to Paris and write several novels, covering the male pseudonym - Zorz Sand. Chopen was not yet thirty. But - he is already a well -known music genius and a virtuoso who has visited many countries with concerts. Left by the one with whom it was engaged…
Chopin has been suffering from cough attacks since childhood, so with the new lover and her two children, everyone decides to go to the warm climate of Spain, Mallorca.
Despite the difficulties of the household than the wavy lovers' relationships-the journey was productive: living in Valdema Monastery on Mallorca, artists worked intensively: F.Sopen created the famous prelude piano cycle OP.28, and Ž.Sandas wrote an essay book "Winter Mallorca".
The scenario of the performance-concert is based on the lyrics of the George, the memories of the contemporaries, the surviving letters, the special experiences of the two creators of the then, the moments of love and passion that contrast with the experience of household difficulties: two artists' journey not only to Spain, but also to the inner world of feelings. In the scenario, the experiences of the words turn into the music of F.Sopen, which deepen the text narrative into the emotional language of the sound. The theme of the work is very relevant today - creative force as the ability to overcome the trials of everyday life, transform them into the experience of being, and the depths of creation.
In the performance-Concert, the twenty-four cycle of F.Sopen's prelude OP.28 is performed by pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė, fragments from the Jorz Sand book "Winter in Mallorca", F.Sopen and Ž.Sand contemporaries' memories and letters are interpreted by actress Birutė Mar.
