Mikas Petrauskas 'fantastic one -act operetta "King of the Giriai" was created based on the Vladas Putvinsis' single -act drama "Don't Kill", in which the mystical creature - the king of the woods - forces the hunter no longer heard by the woods and no longer kill the animals. Because the latter are hungry and ready to eat smaller than themselves. But even them - bunnies, fox, wolf, bear - teach the most important king of the woods - to respect life. In this vivid confrontation between the weaker and stronger, everyone learns how they want them to be treated despite the stronger, faster, higher, and so on. and for a boundary that is better not only with the little ones but also with adults - so the musical performance "The King of the Giriai" is for both small and large. As we celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of the composer, in cooperation with the Kaunas City Museum, we selected and raised this fantastic operetta from the foundations for a new life, inviting everyone to remember his work, spending time with his music, which we will know unheard of, and meaningful to people of the 21st century.
