Let's celebrate the International Tauragė Music Festival for the 15th time!

We want to introduce you to the artistic program of the XV International Tauragė Music Festival! And it has a lot of everything - from Spanish Flamenco to the emotions to the songs of Maestro Vytautas Kernagis, from M.K. Čiurlionis' 150th anniversary with orchestra music to the Space Gediminas Gelgotas program or the oratorio "Free Prison" created in Lithuania. We will experience all this together since August 6th. 7pm when the festival's opening concert is held!

By commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, we invite you to a concert dedicated to this occasion, featuring a monumental symphonic poem "In the Forest" and "Sea." These two symphonic poems are probably the most famous works of Čiurlionis music. Unfortunately, none of them were performed by the composer while still alive. These are not just the broad paintings of nature, they have a complex world of spiritual experiences, a deep philosophy of human being, and their thoughtful monumentality. Ticket price - 5 eur

Strings come to life about love, passion, joy, frustration ... No exception and the Piñana Ma Non tropo. She is a member of the famous Flamenco Musicians' family, one of the strongest composers and performers of this genre, and will present with the stage -like instrumentalists and flamenco dancers. In addition to colorful concert activities, C. Piñana teaches at the Flamenco Murcian Conservatoire (Spain), heads the Flamenco Art School, is an artistic director of the International Flamenco Festival and a guitar competition organizer. The guitar virtuoso awards are also an impressive winner of many international flamenco festivals and competitions. The musician is also one of the most famous flamenco ambassadors in the world - Piñana has not only released seven solo CDs, but also traveled with his concerts from New York to Paris, from London to Tokyo, from Cuba to Delhi. "This project is unique in that Flamenco acquires a new breath when the legendary works of Albéniz, such as Asturia or Cadiz, blend in with the original compositions of Carlos Piñana. These are two musical universe that are like talking to each other, and our dances help turn this dialog into live experience. The most important thing for me is feeling. Flamenco is the emotions expressed through the body, and classical music are emotions expressed through sound. What did they talk about? .. What did they love? .. Did they believe in their victory? It is a work about real people, their real destinies, and about who gave us a free and independent homeland. The oratorio of composer Vaida Striaupaitė-Beinarienė "Free Prison" is a musical testimony of the strength of the human spirit, loyalty to his vocation and dedication to Lithuanian freedom. This musical works combine the tradition of classical oratorio with means of contemporary music. Here the voices of the choir, the expression of the orchestra and the expressive story of the soloist blend here. The composer used the text of Bishop Algirdas Jurevičius' book "Let's meet - I am Theophilius" for the orator. In the center of the oratorio, Blessed Theophilius Matulionis, embodied by soloist, boss. The history of the Blessed Theophilus is a testimony of faith, sacrifice and inner freedom. Even in prison, persecuted and physically restrained, it remains free inside - in its truth, faith and service to the nation. This piece aims not only to commemorate the memory of this prominent personality of Lithuania, but also to inspire the people of the present: what is true freedom, how much we have and can we protect it? ”
