Hommage à Čiurlionis Gleb Pyšniak (cello) Rokas Zubovas (piano) program: Joseph Achron, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Martinaitytė, Arthurs Maskats, Mihkel Keremo cellist Gleb Pyšniak and Rokas Zubovas Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis for the inspired reflections of musical thought. This concert is an audio and creative dedication to the visions of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, combined through time and space. Cellist Gleb Pyšniak and pianist Rokas Zubov invited the composer of three Baltic States - Martinaitytė, Artūras Maskatė and Mihkelis Kerema - to respond to one subtle fragment of history: 1902. While studying in Leipzig, Čiurlionis mentioned the piece for the cello and the orchestra, leaving only four -stroke sketches. This small hint became the source of creation and inspiration for modern works, which all three composers dedicated to Čiurlionis. In addition to contemporary premiers, the concert will feature Čiurlionis' piano miniatures in 1975. Masterly adapted cello and piano Juozas Čelkauskas, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the artist. These little known, but extremely sensitive and subtle transcriptions, seem to combine two bridges - between 1902 and 1975, and between the past and today. The concert program is complemented by Joseph Achron's Fragment Mystique. GGLEB Pyšniak and Rock Zubov's duo have been playing together since 2020, and their repertoire is decorated with a wealth of contemporary Lithuanian music.
