Hello, this is Gabriele Vilkickytė. I invite you to my more-than-a-concert-tour "Rebellion of Care" around Lithuanian schools! In January, I will visit four - Vilnius, Telšiai, Utena and Klaipėda.
The morning part of the day will be reserved for school students, the evening - for city guests who have purchased tickets.
Although the concert will only take place in the evening, I will spend the whole day at each school. I will give students two detailed lessons - one about how I write songs, the other - a workshop together with psychotherapist Viktorija Aprimaita and the school psychologist about anxiety, indifference, care, citizenship. During the breaks, I will rub shoulders in the corridors, we will be able to continue our communication informally. I'm really looking forward to it.
In the evening, those who have purchased a ticket will already gather. We invite you to come not only to the concert, but also earlier, because there will be activities specially created for one evening. For example, there will be a canteen where you can nostalgically munch on a bun with a glass of milk. The gym will be open for those who want to play square with the supervision of the physical education teachers of the school whistling. We will also set up an "Alias" room, where you will need to explain the words selected specifically for the "Rebellion of Care", related to the topics of culture, freedom, and citizenship. Imagine how differently the word "Independence" would be interpreted
A guest of the "Care Revolt" of the TikTok generation, and a guest who participated in Sąjūdy?
After the concert, the whole day will be closed in a special circle of self-reflection. Such an idea arose while observing the crowd of people waiting after the concerts to share what they felt and what they are currently experiencing. It can be a nice slow exit for everyone together from the shared experience. Intergenerational conversation.
The purpose of this tour is to remind a young person that he is an important part of society with a worldview that is already forming at school, which either makes or stops our country. Lithuania needs a wave of active and empathetic people, not cold potatoes that are easy to manage. And I invite adults to return to the state of learning, to qualities often left at school - curiosity, the desire to discuss live, not on screens, the courage to talk to a stranger, sit on the windowsill in the corridor and start a conversation about the pains of the heart or the country.
Gabriele Vilkickytė's "Care Rebellion" tour with a live band and meetings will take place:
