TWO FACE TIDE - The group was born from a sincere friendship, for MartynWhile Šerpytis and Bertram Kvist Lynggaard were studying at the Danish National Conservatory of Music. The group's goal is to combine different cultural contexts, experiment and realize their creative visions by creating original music.
Martynas is a new generation jazz saxophonist and music creator who combines Lithuanian folk motifs, contemporary music and jazz. He has already managed to appear at almost all Lithuanian jazz festivals and visit Europe with such collectives as:
"Lithuanian Youth Jazz Orchestra", "Nordic Youth Quintet", "Humanoid Silhouette" " etc.
Bertram is a saxophonist and composer living in Copenhagen, whose music is distinguished by a fusion of hardbop and the Scandinavian tradition. Bertram has been creating music since childhood and performs it all over Denmark and Scandinavian countries.
TWO FACE TIDE has already performed in Lithuania as well as at the Vinter Jazz festival in Denmark. Bei recorded his first album in Denmark called Occurrents. In the album, Martyn and Bertram reveal the compositions they created and the differences in cultural effects
acquired while growing up in different countries. Separately created compositions combine the characters of two artists into one product that invites listeners to an emotional, dissonant yet harmonious journey.
The album was recorded together with a colleague from Denmark - Mads. Tornemark drums; Asger Brink terry cloth; Sylvester Pedersen double bass.
