StarkLinnemann Trio, who will perform works from their album Transcending Liszt and beyond. This exclusive project reimagines Franz Liszt's work, presenting it in fresh, modern interpretations. Each composition is thoughtfully transformed using modern harmonies and rhythmic grooves, preserving the essence of Liszt's music. It will be bold improvisations and a dynamic live performance where the classical tradition merges with modern jazz and more.
The Hungarian Rhapsody, for example, takes on a distinctly Brazilian character, the work imbued with an infectious festive mood and light, playful virtuosity. The band likes to experiment with rhythmic structure, moving classical themes into ever-changing rhythmic contexts, thus opening up new musical perspectives.
The Stark/Linnemann trio's successful crossover projects, transforming classical masterpieces into evocative 21st-century musical forms, have garnered widespread acclaim in both the local and international press. Spectacular performances at prestigious festivals and venues such as Amsterdam's Concertgebouw have firmly established the trio as a significant force on the global music scene.
