Pies en la tierra combines jazz and South American folk music to create a unique style that has become an important symbol in their home country in Ecuador. The repertoire is mainly based on the original compositions that investigate the merger of Ecuador and Latin American melodies and rhythms with modern, modern elements of music. The band has been performing since 2000 and has recorded 7 albums that clearly aims at originality and art.
2025 Pies en la tierra begins Europe to commemorate its 20th anniversary and perform music from its broad repertoire. They will have invited guests who will join them in Spain, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Germany.
Pies en la Tierra participated in international festivals around the world. Some of them: International Jazz Festival in San Sebastia (Spain), Getx Jazz and Ezcaray Jazz Festival (Spain), Mira Jazz Buenos Aires, Jazz A La Calle (Mercedes, Uruguay) and single de Jazz (Arica, Chile). Group 7 albums mark a new phase in Ecuador in contemporary music, becoming an important symbol of influence both in the national and international music scene. One of the main features of the quartet is the active participation of high -rated international musicians such as Jorge Pardo, Randy Brecker, Perito Sambeat, Ricardo Cavalli, Tony Sperranza and Walt Szymansky, participation and cooperation with the collective.
