Raul Midón, who does not go down to the best of jazz music, will present their latest works and long -loved hits. His new album The Mirror is full of innovative music solutions.
The song "Lost & Found", which inspired the album, described by Midón as "Smooth Folk", was created at the beginning of his career at the beginning of his career. The text was influenced by the reading of Bob Dylan's poem "Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie". The song "When We Remember" has a patient music spice, while the Midón itself plays the Band. He was able to invite Bela Fleck, but this time he chose self -confident - doing so in his home studio in the basement. This had to learn the subtleties of sound engineering. Unfortunately, the technology adapted to the blind is not consistent, so it is a constant challenge he is still facing. He was supported by New York Sound Engineer Michael O'Reilly, who he met with his debut album "State of Mind" with the famous producer Arif Mardin. Since then, Raul has recorded many albums with Mike, including Grammy nominated for Bad Ass and Blind.
During the closing of pandemia, Raul fulfilled an old dream of recording guitar duets album with her favorite guitarists: Mike Stern, Dean Parks, Lionel Louek, Julia Bailen, Stephane Wrembel, Alex Cuba and others. The popular Letterman bassist Will Lee said about the album: "Eclectic Adventurist is a full journey that delights with great performance and careful recording at every step." The limited amount of this album is now available in vinyl format.
Raul has worked with many music legends - Bill Withers, Herbie Hancock, Sting, Terence Blanchard, Dianne Reeves and others. 2022 He was invited to honor his Idol Joni Mitchell together with the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vince Mendoza, The Kennedy Centerscene, along with Lalah Hathaway, Jimmie Herrod and Renee Fleming (Pbs Next at the Kennedy Center).
He earned two Grammy nominations in a row - 2017 and 2018. For albums in the Bad ASS and Blind and If You Really Want category "Best Jazz Vocal". 2019 He was awarded the Honorary Alumni Award from the University of Miami. He received the ambassador of the disabled rights of the year, presented to him by his colleague Jason Mraz.
