From New Orleans-style funk to soul and rhythm and blues, Wressnig's percussive, "fat" Hammond organ sound creates dynamic, high-energy music. His playing meets old school and new school: authentic soul and deep blues tradition combined with modern funk character to create a unique listening experience. His fluid movement between soul, funk, jazz and blues genres has earned him the attention of international critics and multiple nominations in DownBeat critics and readers' polls as "Best Organist of the Year".
Wressnig's discography includes about 20 albums, including two live albums and such outstanding works as "Soul Gumbo" or "Chicken Burrito". Soul Gumbo was recorded in New Orleans and features the city's most prominent musicians: Grammy winner Jon Cleary, George Porter, Jr. (The Meters), drummer Stanton Moore and R&B legend Walter "Wolfman" Washington.
"Chicken Burrito" is a rock showdown featuring Wressnig's longtime friend guitarist Alex Schultz and legendary funk drummer James Gadson.
