Jan Maksimowicz - saxophone
Eugenijus Kanevičius - double bass
Arkady Gotesman - cloudy
(Modern, creative)
Jan Maksimowicz is an outstanding example of Lithuanian jazz musicians of the middle generation. A rich sound, wide technical possibilities and bright and unexpected musical phrasing set him apart from other saxophonists. Adding a huge experience in the field of improvisational music gives a stunning result - expressive, even theatrical and extremely deep and spiritual playing that opens the hearts, souls and minds of the listeners. For the past several decades, Jan has been an active leader of several ensembles and has also played as a guest musician with the most famous artists in the country. Jazz Cellar 11 is well known and loved by the listeners of the concert dedicated to John Coltrane. His circle of collaborations includes Tim Daisy, the Vein Trio, the National Symphony Orchestra and many others.
And for this special concert, Jan will be joined on stage by his long-time partners, Lithuanian jazz masters double bassist Eugenijus Kanevičius and drummer Arkadijus Gotesmanas. They probably don't need to be introduced. They are one of the most active participants of the country's jazz scene, having played with, perhaps, all Lithuanian jazz and improvisational music performers.
This concert promises a lot of emotions, the highest quality of performance and, of course, the true spirit of jazz.
