What's the delay?
Collaboration and community have always been at the core of Efterklang's moral compass. "We don't want to play for people, we want to perform and create music with people," says Rasmus Stolberg, who has many friends in Lithuania , when a simple reminder, like a photo, a word, or a love we've met, suddenly frees our mind," explains another group member, Casper Clausen: "I actually feel a dark and highly politicized force tearing at us. I want to remind myself that there is a space that exists beyond and between us, where you can freely enter and welcome each other there."
The warm sonic tapestry of the intimate single is beautifully complemented by the trumpet of Beirut project leader Zach Condon. The range of collaborators of the group is extremely wide: from violinist Peter Broderick, Nils Frahm, seen in Vilnius, to the brass section of "Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra" or the girls' choir of the 70s.
Since the beginning of the century, "Efterklang" has recorded many critically acclaimed albums (e.g. "Magic Chairs" was chosen as the European Independent Music Album of the Year at the IMPALA Awards) and performed worldwide, presenting their sound world, which innovatively fuses elements of pop, indie-rock, post-rock and electronic music.
The group constantly tried to break the usual traditions and involve the audience in the creative process. From the music education support initiative Efterkids to the formation of audience choirs, they are constantly looking for moments of community.
