"A pianist of great elegance, strength and insight," writes The New York Times about the Norwegian Leif Ove Andsnes. Tonight he will perform works by R. Schumann, L. van Beethoven and F. Chopin on the stage of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.
The pianist, who will perform in Lithuania for the first time, won international recognition for his virtuoso technique and deep interpretations, he appears in the world's most famous halls with the most famous orchestras, and his discography includes more than fifty recordings that have won many international prizes. L. O. Andsnes is a passionate chamber music performer, founder and artistic director of the Rosendal Chamber Music Festival. The pianist is inducted into the Gramophone Hall of Fame and has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Juilliard School in New York and the University of Bergen.
L. O. Andsnes is a recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society Medal and the Gilmore Artist Award, the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Order of Olav and Pero Giunto's prize. The pianist has arranged special cycles in the seasons of New York's Carnegie Hall, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin, New York and Gothenburg Philharmonic.
