Fruits we haven't tasted, plants we haven't seen and names we haven't heard. Melodies that sound unusual or even exotic. This is how children first experience the folk music of distant lands. But soon after rehearsing it, translating the words one by one and painting landscapes in his imagination, he begins to notice how close those distant lands are. It turns out that the same things have been important to the people of these lands as to us: a safe haven in nature, connection with loved ones and the strongest feeling in the world - love.
On the occasion of the 15th birthday, the students of the music school "Ugnelė" prepared a program inspired by world folk music. During those 15 years, some of the melodies were collected for them by the previous generations of students who traveled to Indonesia, Japan, the USA, others were a gift of the teachers' long-term friendship with colleagues from Malaysia, Estonia, Finland, and the Azeri islands. On the stage of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra, all these songs will be combined into one cozy fabric, which will make us feel that distant lands are close, and the big world fits in our arms.
Music school "Ugnelė" takes part in the concert:
- children's choir (leader Skaistė Makselytė)
- preparatory choir (leader Mindaugas Baliukevičius)
- youth choir (director Greta Gustaitė)
- the main choir (director Valerija Skapienė, choirmaster Denis Vysokovych)
- pianist Dovydas Baltrimavičius
